Amici dei Bambini - Social inclusion of young people without parental care: the social intermediary |
|
The event, planned for next 18th January in Brussels, is organised in the framework of a social experimentation project promoted by Amici dei Bambini and co-financed by the European Commission (DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities) under the "Call for proposal on transnational actions on social experimentation" (VS/2010/0003). The overall scope of the actions consisted of contributing to the development of innovative social policies in key areas of the European strategy for social protection and social inclusion.
Our project "Supporting life after institutional care" addressed the issue of young care leavers (young people without parental care leaving residential care) and their challenges of social inclusion. After two years of activities successfully implemented in Italy, Romania and Bulgaria, we are pleased to invite you to a presentation of the results of our social experimentation based on the introduction of a new professional: the social intermediary.
We will first share with you the model and tools of the intermediary service underlining the main outcomes of our social experimentation and the specific added value of the "social intermediary intervention model".
Starting for this specific case we will discuss the transferability of good practices in different countries and, more generally, how to support sustainability of social experimentation in Europe. At the meeting partners of the project, European Commission' representatives, main European stakeholders and representatives of local authorities will participate, sharing their experience on social innovative policies.
