Upbringing emergency: international congress
Tuesday, 21 July 2009 14:55

Cervia (Italy) will host the 24th and 25th of August the international congress "Upbringing Emergency - adoption, foster care and leaving care in school and family" promoted by Amici dei Bambini.

The aim of the congress activities is to point out the intersection points between different children protection systems and the educational structures and methods available to them. What is the role of school and, generally speaking, of the whole educational system in upbringing children without parental care?

We know that family usually plays a major role in children upbringing; it is the place where human relationship is experienced for the first time but, what happens if children grow up without a family to rely on?

Who is responsible for the upbringing of a child without parental care? Who should lead him towards the wonderful discovering of his/her qualities and potential?

The dilemma on the role of upbringing and educational systems revealed all its importance when we exchanged opinions with young care-leavers during the activities we carried on together last year.

We are going to look together for some answers during the workshops and the debates that are going to be hosted in the two days of our congress.
