Supporting life after institutional care

Starting from results of previous research European project "Life after institutional care" Amici dei Bambini promotes, with the financial help of the European Commission (DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities), a social experimentation in Italy, Bulgaria and Romania aiming at locally develop effective policies to promote social inclusion of young people without parental care leaving child protection system.

In particular, the 24 months project wants to offer policy-makers and social service providers evidence based on ad hoc transnational social experimentation to evaluate the possibility to introduce in their respective child protection systems the professional figure of the "social intermediary" able to specifically support (in the long period) young people leaving residential settings to approach the new challenging social context. As well it aims to improve synergies among all local actors involved in supporting social inclusion of this social category, at high risk of social inclusion.
